Entity Status Review Policy

A repeatable protocol for reviewing whether an entity is active, transformed, retired, discontinued, merged, acquired, or unknown.

Status Is Temporal

Every status statement must include a review date. Status is a dated observation, not an eternal attribute.

Separate the Layers

Company, legal entity, brand, product, platform, website, print edition, and digital publication can have different continuity states.

Minimum Verification

Review the official website, current publication or service activity, official closure or transition statements, corporate or regulatory records when relevant, and at least one credible independent source for disputed cases.

Prohibited Shortcuts

Do not infer closure from traffic decline, a weak search presence, an old design, a dormant social account, or a change in business model.
