KonteksPanduan praktis

Nilai transaksi joint venture awal diumumkan sekitar US$300 juta.

Pada 3 Juni 2022, BDx Indonesia resmi diluncurkan setelah completion US$300 million joint venture agreement.

Current BDx history page menyebut langkah ini sebagai “Moving into Indonesia”.

Strategic logic jelas.

Indosat punya network and customer.

Lintasarta punya enterprise and data center experience.

BDx brings data center operation and regional hyperscale expertise.

Joint venture gives local connectivity plus international data center model.

This structure also means BDx Indonesia is not simply a foreign company building independently.

It has deep relationship with Indosat ecosystem.

But it remains a distinct joint venture entity/business.

Indosat and Lintasarta should not be treated as aliases.

They are shareholders/partners.

BDx Indonesia is operating platform.

2024 acquisition expanded national footprint

On 9 January 2024, Indosat and BDx Indonesia announced landmark transaction.

BDx Indonesia agreed to acquire portfolio of carrier-neutral colocation and edge sites across Indonesia.

Locations included Jakarta, Surabaya, Batam, Medan, Makassar, Bandung, and Semarang.

Portfolio included ten strategic sites connected to six domestic and five international subsea cables according to announcement.

This changed company geography.

Before, BDx Indonesia was heavily associated with Jakarta facilities and new hyperscale development.

After transaction, it gained national edge footprint.

Current BDx Indonesia page says end 2023 portfolio acquisition included ten operational carrier-neutral colocation facilities, new 15 MW facility near Jakarta, and 100 MW hyperscale campus in Suryacipta.

This gives layered infrastructure.

Hyperscale campus for large cloud/AI customer.

Urban colocation for enterprise.

Edge site for regional latency.

Batam for international connectivity.

One operator can serve different workload types.

CGK4 Jatiluhur became 500 MW AI campus

On 31 July 2024, BDx announced Phase 1 completion of CGK4 in Jatiluhur.

Company described site as renewable-powered AI data center park scalable up to 500 MW.

Facility supports rack density up to 120 kW per rack, liquid cooling, and high-speed connectivity.

This is a clear AI infrastructure orientation.

But “scalable up to 500 MW” is not same as 500 MW already built.

Current BDx location page displays CGK4 total campus capacity 500, indicating ultimate campus scale.

Phase 1 completion means part of campus operational/developed.

The archive should store both.

Current facility.

Ultimate campus capacity.

Development phase.

Without phase, data center comparisons become inflated.

A 500 MW campus can take years to build.

Power commitment can precede building.

Customer deployments can be phased.

AI demand can accelerate or delay.

Status field matters more than headline.

CGK5 Suryacipta and additional pipeline

Current Indonesia location page lists CGK5 in Karawang at 110 MW with “Coming Soon” status.

Earlier 2022 announcement described a new 100 MW hyperscale campus on 12 acres in Suryacipta, East Jakarta/Karawang area.

Capacity figure later appears 110 MW on current site.

This is a good example of why current source should update old plan.

Project design evolves.

Old 100 MW announcement.

Current 110 MW listing.

Archive can preserve history and current planned figure.

Do not silently overwrite old release.

Instead:

planned in 2022 at 100 MW.

current page 2026 lists 110 MW.

This is data evolution.

Same site can change design.

Similarly CGK3A has current 15 MW.

CGK3 2 MW.

CGK2 3 MW.

Other facilities have varied scale.

BDx Indonesia is not one giant campus.

It is network.

June 2026, 1.2 GW power commitment

On 3 June 2026, BDx announced strategic power milestones with PLN totaling 1.2 GW commitment across national AI infrastructure platform.

Company described it as Indonesia's largest data center power commitment.

This is company claim.

The factual element is agreement/commitment announced.

Do not convert to current operational power.

Data center growth depends on power allocation long before racks arrive.

Securing 1.2 GW creates pipeline optionality.

But actual build requires:

land.

substation.

transmission.

construction.

cooling.

fiber.

hardware.

tenant.

finance.

permit.

engineer.

A power agreement is one critical step.

Not final data center.

The scale nevertheless signals ambition.

BDx wants to become national AI infrastructure provider.

It also highlights how AI data center competition is increasingly energy competition.

PLN becomes strategic partner, not merely utility biller.

AI workload and renewable power

CGK4 uses hydropower-linked renewable power according to BDx current positioning.

Liquid cooling enables high-density AI.

Power density up to 120 kW per rack is much higher than conventional enterprise rack.

This reflects GPU cluster requirements.

But sustainability claim should remain scoped.

“Renewable-powered” refers to energy sourcing arrangement defined by company.

It does not automatically answer lifecycle carbon, backup generation, water, or construction.

Archive should retain exact nature of claim.

Current operator says green hydropower and sustainable liquid cooling.

Independent ESG assessment separate.

This pattern applies to all data center company.

Do not turn marketing adjective into universal environmental conclusion.

Carrier neutral is core

BDx markets carrier-neutral colocation.

This means customer can connect to multiple telecom networks.

For enterprise and hyperscaler, this supports redundancy and interconnection.

Indonesia portfolio acquired from Indosat-related assets is particularly network-rich because sites connect to domestic and international subsea cable systems.

This gives strategic value.

A data center without connectivity is just a powered building.

Interconnection is part product.

BDx joint venture with Indosat and Lintasarta provides strong network relationship, but carrier-neutral positioning means customers are not necessarily forced to use only Indosat.

That neutrality is commercial differentiation.

Again, shareholder and network access are different.

Partner relationship does not automatically remove neutrality.

Current facility map shows national ambition

The 2026 BDx page lists existing and coming sites across many cities.

CGK1 Jakarta City Center.

CGK2 Technopark BSD.

CGK3 South Jakarta.

CGK3A South Jakarta.

CGK4 Jatiluhur.

CGK5 Suryacipta.

BTH2 and BTH3 Batam.

BDJ Banjarmasin.

CGK7 Jakarta.

CGK10 West Java.

Plus coming Surabaya, Medan, Makassar, Semarang, Bandung, Bali, Pontianak, and more.

Not all are operational.

The page explicitly marks many “Coming Soon”.

This is valuable status labeling.

Archive should preserve it.

Otherwise a map of future facilities can be misread as current footprint.

The existing portfolio is already national.

The pipeline extends it further.

This is better description than counting every marker equally.

Relationship with Lintasarta AI Factory

Lintasarta has GPU Merdeka and AI Factory role within Indosat group.

BDx provides data center infrastructure.

These two businesses can complement each other.

Physical AI-ready facility.

GPU cloud/service.

Network.

Enterprise customer.

However BDx is not the same as GPU Merdeka.

Lintasarta is not the same as BDx.

Indosat can participate in both.

Entity graph matters.

AI value chain has multiple operators.

Power and cooling by data center.

GPU platform by cloud/AI service.

Connectivity by network.

Model by software partner.

Customer application by enterprise.

Calling all of it “Indosat AI data center” collapses too much.

BDx Indonesia should remain own node.

Ownership current still joint venture context

Current BDx pages consistently call BDx Indonesia joint venture of BDx Data Centers, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and Lintasarta.

This relationship remains active in 2026 messaging.

Exact percentage shareholdings may require latest corporate documents and can change.

Without current registry, article should not invent percentage.

High-confidence:

BDx is partner.

Indosat is partner/shareholder.

Lintasarta is partner/shareholder.

BDx Indonesia is JV operator.

This is enough for archival overview.

If cap table analysis needed, separate shareholder snapshot with dated registry should be created.

Status pada Agustus 2026

BDx Indonesia remains active and expanding.

Formed in 2022 through US$300 million joint venture.

Expanded national footprint through 2024 data center portfolio acquisition.

CGK4 Phase 1 is complete and campus scalable to 500 MW according to company.

Current site lists additional hyperscale and edge projects.

June 2026 company announced 1.2 GW power commitment with PLN for national AI infrastructure expansion.

Description safe:

BDx Indonesia is a data center joint venture launched in June 2022 by BDx Data Centers, PT Indosat Tbk, and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta. It operates carrier-neutral colocation, edge, hyperscale, and AI-ready data center infrastructure across Indonesia. After acquiring a broad Indosat-related data center portfolio in 2024, BDx expanded beyond Jakarta into multiple regional cities. Its Jatiluhur CGK4 campus is being developed toward a stated 500 MW scale, while June 2026 power agreements with PLN provide up to 1.2 GW commitment for future AI infrastructure. Sampai Agustus 2026, BDx Indonesia is active, but a significant portion of its headline megawatt capacity remains pipeline or phased expansion rather than fully operational capacity.

BDx is a useful lesson in reading data center headlines.

100 MW.

500 MW.

1.2 GW.

Each number can be true.

But each number can describe a different stage.

Facility.

Campus potential.

Power commitment.

Archive quality depends on not mixing them.
